The TP5100 2A Lithium Ion 18650 Battery Charger Module is a highly efficient, dual-switch buck charge management IC designed for charging 8.4V or 4.2V lithium-ion batteries. Its compact QFN16 package and minimal external components make it ideal for portable devices that require high-current charging capabilities.

This module is packed with built-in protection features, including safeguards against input overcurrent, undervoltage, overtemperature, short circuits, reverse battery connection, and battery temperature monitoring.

Operating with an input voltage range of 5V to 18V, the TP5100 charges batteries in three stages: trickle charge, constant current, and constant voltage. The charge current can be adjusted via external resistors, with a maximum charging current of 2A. The 400kHz switching frequency helps minimize the size of external components and reduces heat generation, making it particularly efficient during high-current charging.

The module also features an integrated power PMOSFET and anti-reverse protection circuitry, eliminating the need for external Schottky diodes or additional reverse protection components, thus simplifying the design and improving overall reliability.
